In 1988, Tyrone Hashimoto released his first all English soul album,
Moments of Love, He debuted it in Seattle with a live concert
and took Seattle media by storm.
If you ask people who saw the significant media coverage
or knew Tyrone during that period, his big personality
and genuine warmth truly fit his identity as the Samurai Soul Singer.
Tyrone, already a successful producer of music for commercialsin Japan, including an advertising campaign with the legendary James Brown, began writing and recording his R & B and Soul music, as well as covering artists that influenced his style. He found a home for what he was doing in Seattle. Tyrone was welcomed with open arms by the soul, gospel, blues and jazz communities for his authenticity and real passion for the music. His belief that when you love something s much, you do everything you can to make it part of your life, helped shape him as the Samurai Soul Singer.
In the course of digitizing Tryone’s music, new music was discovered that turned out to be a collection of Tyrone-penned originals from the mid-’90s, commissioned as three EPs to help launch the Japanese version of the Miata sports car called Eunos. Anyone purchasing the new vehicle received a Tyrone EP, perfect music for road trips in their new car.
