Or were YOU slacking? This one was from several years ago. My buddy was a Mac Tools dealer and traded some tools and other goods to a Snap-On dealer and got me one in his trades long ago. I need to go find it now.

I still just want to know why these things are selling for crazy money.
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

Eric, this particular version is over 10 years old, and it was VERY Limited Production, and most of these Skylines probably got opened and trashed making them even more rare.

I still have mine mint on the card, however I am sure most did not end up the same. This was never sold online, or in any store, the ONLY way to get this car was to buy the $100+ 6-Car set from a Snap-On Tools dealer. You know those huge box trucks that drive up to the service bays, well.... they sell tools directly to the mechanics, so most of the buyers would have been in that industry. I do remember these came out in November ~ December time frame, just in time for Christmas, so my guess is that mechanics bought them and probably kept the cars they wanted from that set, and the skyline probably was given to their kids. (and trashed)

The only way I even found out about this set is from a long time friend that was a Mac-Tools dealer. He would meet up with the other local tool dealers and swap tools out for warranty. He happened to see this set and told me about it and of course I wanted that Snap-On Nissan Skyline !!! He asked the other dealer if he would sell him the set (which he did) and handed me the Skyline. He sold the rest of the cars on his truck the following week, they sold so fast that when he tried to get more the Mac-Tools dealer had to put them on backorder. Never saw anymore after that.

Keep in mind, when this model came out the REAL Nissan Skylines were still not sold in the USA, and most folks had never heard of, or even seen these cars before, so maybe folks thought is was a fantasy car and just discarded them as such.

Now the Skyline is sold in the USA, and the Fast & Furious crowd wants in on the action, so its a pretty well known car with the import guys.

I will dig mine out this weekend and get the production year and snap some photos for you guys.

FWIW, I did see this "LOOSE" version of this sell recently on ebay for $200.00 + $3.00 S&H, so I would think a Mint Condition Carded version would sell for more than this or at least top dollar!!!
